Spanish born, Emilio de la Morena studied sculpture whilst in Spain, and came to London some 12 years ago to study business. It was whilst he was working as a consultant in London that he discovered his passion for fashion design.
Traditional artisan embroidery techniques of his native Spain intertwine with complex structural shapes which hug and flow around the body like moving sculptures, adorned with ornate embellishments and full ruffles. Fluid, organic shapes are skillfully juxtaposed with strong, definitive silhouettes, thus creating a unique kind of harmony between hard and soft.

He has worked for Rafael Lopez and Jonathan Saunders. Emilio is by nature an intellectual designer, whose passion lies in exploring new processes and ways of putting clothes together. He manages to create surprising and fastidiously sexy cocktail looks by modernizing old and obscure craftsmanship techniques. But just as important as the intellectual explorations behind a collection, is the way each garment makes the wearer feel – reinforcing her personality and a sensual femininity.
